Visit to China
Contemporary colorful abstract painting measuring 30 x 40 x 1.5 inches. Acrylic painting on canvas by artist Rose Cook. In Chinese culture, colors are given symbolic meanings. The colors in "Visit to China" were chosen to represent five important elements in Chinese culture: red symbolizes happiness, yellow is the color of royalty, green is the color of health, black is the color for water and white is the color of death. For me, the intricate patterns and mixtures of the various colors is a reminder of how all these elements are constantly changing. There is darkness and congestion, but there is also great beauty. It's a dramatic piece for any room in the house. The sides of the painting are painted, so you have the choice to frame it or hang it as is. There is a wire on the back for hanging. The painting is varnished to protect it from light and dust. Stock wall image by alexandercho on Freepik.
